Zero Waste Towns are really important pilot projects that allow us to test out lots of different approaches that we will need in order to make the transition to a fully zero waste society.
I had the pleasure of being involved in the organisation and the management of the launch party of the Zero Waste Edinburgh Project, the 7th of March 2018.
I take particular pride in the design of the decorations created for the venue and for the single projects stalls. They were created, following the zero waste paradigms, all from recycled material and they are still used for ZWE current pop-out stalls and events.
It was a totally successful night, that saw the support of loads of people from the central Edinburgh community, food rescued from waste served throughout the evening, and the participation of:
- Jill Farrell: Chief Operating Officer, Zero Waste Scotland;
- David Anderson: Head of European Structural Funds Operations at The Scottish Government.
